HOW TO PADDLE BOARD? FIRST STEPS

Here are a few tips to get you started with your paddleboard. From how to swell your board to how to take your first strokes.

How to Stand Up Paddle Board For Beginners

HOW TO ADJUST YOUR SUP PADDLE

Throw a shaka sideways and place it on top of your head. The tip of your pinky is where your paddle’s shaft should end. We then suggest adjusting from there based on your needs, mobility and experience.

HOW TO STAND UP ON YOUR SUP

Start in a kneeling position, lean forward, slowly stand up with one foot at a time and stay in the middle of the board with your feet shoulder width apart. Bend your knees slightly and keep your core centered over the board.

HOW TO SUP PADDLE FORWARD?

Insert the paddle into the water as far forward as possible and immerse the paddle into the water.Rather than pulling you paddle through the water, think about pulling past your paddle. Keep your arms straight and twist from your torso as you paddle.

HOW TO DO THE SUP SWEEP STROKE?

Bend your knees more than you would when just making a forward stroke. Rotate your hips and shoulders, plant the blade fully in the water before pulling. Then, extend the paddle all the way to the nose of the board and then make a smooth, semi-circular arc to the tail.

HOW TO INFLATE YOUR STAND UP PADDLE BOARD?

CONNECT THE HOSE TO THE SUP

Roll out your board, unscrew the valve cap on the board, make sure the inflation valve stem is closed (stem up). To close it, you have to push it with your thumb, twist, and let the spring push it up. Insert and twist the hose into the valve and start pumping.

DOUBLE ACTION SUP PUMP

This pump has been specially developed for SUPs so the inflation is easier and quicker.Start pumping in double action operation (plug in flat position). As soon as pumping becomes harder press the plug (insert position) so the pump operates in single action to finish the job more easily.

CHECK YOUR PUMP PRESSURE

Keep pumping until your board reaches the recommended 15 PSI.The higher the pressure, the stiffer the board and the better the performance. Twist off your pump’s hose, place the valve cap on your board and you are ready to hit the water!.

DEFLATE AND ROLL UP YOUR BOARD

Before deflating your board, wash it off with fresh water and dry it completely. To deflate, take off the valve cap and push down on the stem, then twist to lock it in the open position. When most of the air is deflated out of your board, roll it up from nose to tail and force the air to run out of the valve.
